Amazon has seen a massive increase in profits and it looks like part of it is thanks to Twilight and New Moon DVD sales. Find out more below.

Amazon sees strong growth
Online retail titan Amazon has reported a 68% leap in worldwide profits for the first quarter of the year after double-digit sales growth in the US and at its international arm.
 The release of the latest Twilight Saga blockbuster movie on DVD led the best seller list in the UK, contributing to a 45% hike in sales across Amazon’s international arm – up 37% with currency effects stripped out.
Amazon notched up net income of 299 million US dollars (£195 million) across the group, up from 177 million dollars (£115 million) a year earlier.
The UK saw strong demand for The Twilight Saga: New Moon DVD featuring Hollywood heartthrob Robert Pattinson, but other top sellers also included author Stieg Larsson’s trilogy of novels, including The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, and Oscar-winning film The Hurt Locker.

The guy wants an Oscar: just a week ago, Robert Pattinson was saying that his goal as an actor is to win an Oscar and seemed he was in a hurry, too. Because he wanted to win an Oscar before he is 30. Rather mellow age to win the honour, huh? He sure sets the bar high.

Leonardo de Caprio………what a resume: and while everybody is running their leggies out after Pattinson, he wants to follow the path treaded by the iconic screen persona Leonardo de Caprio. He says that he would love his resume to look something like Departed star’s a decade from now.

Fame and paranoia, goes hand in hand: Rob tells he is scared out of his elements that he is turning into a paranoiac. He says every time someone not familiar to him approaches him, he just snaps, freaks out…..’hey, hey, what do you want from me?’………something in that vein. But he is somewhat assured that the solution is close at hand- more and more socializing.

Rom-com, why not: Rob makes it clear that he is open to do rom-coms and indeed he is trying to branch out in different genres, but that till date no good rom-com script has fallen in his hand. As soon as it does, he would jump to the chance and would caper like mad and make you laugh your hearts out.

Poor, poor Rob: he had had his fill with the hotel-hopping. He says he is tired of holing up in one or other hotel for the last 3 years and sometime ago decided that it’s time he had his own little hut. So he went on search for one in Beverley hills and guess what, the amount scared him off and since he doesn’t know whether he will have any film next year, he couldn’t possibly take such a huge risk. Sliding form modest to coy, Rob?
