Sing us a song, piano man—let’s start with “Happy Birthday.” New Orleans’s Preservation Hall—where Annie Leibovitz shot young Robert Pattinson, shown tickling the ol’ 88 with the world-famous Preservation Hall band—celebrates its 50th anniversary this year. Situated in the French Quarter, the music venue is one of the country’s most hallowed: it was founded in 1961 for the purpose of preserving New Orleans–style jazz, and indigenous American music.

Great Analysis of Robert Pattinson’s Upcoming Role in “Cosmopolis”

Posted by Admin in Films | Press - (1 Comments)

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM - NOVEMBER 11: Robert Pattinson attends The Twilight Saga: New Moon - UK Fan Event at Battersea Evolution on November 11, 2009 in London, England. (Photo by Eamonn McCormack/WireImage)

A recent article purblished by Death and Taxes Magazins provides a really in depth analysis of Rob’s upcoming Cosmopolis role as Eric Packer. Read the full article HERE at the source and let us know if you agree with the author’s commentary (mild spoilers ahead).

Don DeLillo’s “Cosmopolis” is a vintage, icy satire. It might share the NYC setting and financial playground staked out by Oliver Stone in “Wall Street,” but whereas Charlie Sheen stands at his balcony and asks, “Who am I,” Eric Packer looks at his skyscraper penthouse from the street below and remembers, “I want a haircut.”

And so begins Packer’s Ulyssian odyssey through Manhattan as a 28 year old billionaire hedge fund manager, who’s made his money in tech stocks, and has an almost abstract-nihilistic approach to life and business.

Packer is, for all intents and purposes, an example of the Cartesian cogito ergo sum made flesh. The reader of “Cosmopolis” gets the impression that Packer might have sincerely tried to infuse meaning into existence, and simply discarded the notion when intellectual or financial excellence revealed no greater truths.

In fact, in the early chapters, there is no greater meaning to be derived from Packer’s existence or existence, in general. He reads poetry to hear his breathing and marries a poet and heir to a European banking dynasty, even though he thinks she’s a shit poet and he doesn’t need the money.

Sam Bradley Talks About Music and His Friendship with Robert Pattinson

Posted by Admin in Press - (1 Comments)

In a recent interview with Buzzine, Sam Bradley spoke about his musical beginnings and his friendship with Robert Pattinson. You can watch the video of his interview and a full transcript HERE at the source, and you can read the Rob mentions below.

Sam’s ‘Zuni’ EP is available now at iTunes, Amazon and www.sambradley.com so make sure you go ahead and purchase it. Sam is an extremely talented musician and you definitely won’t regret buying his album.

SG: So your musical beginnings were friends and family-based, and then so were your first big steps out into wider acclaim—outside London, out into the world, with your schoolmate Robert (Pattinson)…

SB: It’s still all friend-based. I don’t work with anyone that isn’t a friend. My band, my booking agent, my manager… Everyone I want to work with, I want to have a relationship that is stronger than just work. As far as the connection with Rob, he’s a friend—that’s it. There’s no special story. The special story is in our friendship. That’s it. There’s nothing grand about it. I got a song on this Twilight soundtrack—that opened up a bigger audience than I was ready for, perhaps, and then it was up to me to keep the music-lovers, and expand and grow on and through and past and with that. Paul Giamatti Talks About Working with Robert Pattinson on “Cosmopolis”

Posted by Admin in Films | Press - (1 Comments)

MTV caught up with Paul Giamatti at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival and he briefly mentioned Cosmopolis and working with Rob.

You can watch a video of the interview HERE at the source.

GoldenGlobesHQ101

Earlier this week, Paul Giamatti was at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival to support his film, “Win Win,” a title that also aptly describes another flick the recent Golden Globe-winner has on his horizon: “Cosmopolis.”

Why is “Win Win” so fitting a description of Giamatti’s participation in “Cosmopolis”? Well, he gets work with director David Cronenberg and Robert Pattinson, of course!

After Giamatti, who stood with his “Win Win” costar Bobby Cannavale, admitted he was “not sure” when production on “Cosmopolis” would come together, there was one thing that was certain: he’d get to work with the “dreamiest man alive.”

“I get to stalk him,” a deadpan Giamatti said of getting to work on a set with R-Pattz. While Giamatti (who also divulged to MTV about his part in the highly anticipated “Hangover 2″) said he hasn’t yet met Pattinson he claimed (though quite possibly tracing the slightest hint of sarcasm there) to have seen the “Twilight” films.
